If you want to carve out an incredible living as a writer, copywriter or email infotainer, one of the biggest keys to success is NOT looking at this as a lovey-dovey sort of endeavor.
Becoming a great writer is much the same as becoming a great fighter, only now you’re using words instead of your fists, feet, elbows and knees. You love fighting, that’s a given, but the practice of fighting is not always a joyride. Good thing is there are tricks and secrets that turn your practice time into something you look forward to and benefit from.
I’ve taken some pretty lousy writers and turned them into champions. They followed the guidelines of my process and made it work for them. They made it work because they learned what I teach at a deep level – a level where you learn to be YOURSELF, not an imitation or two or three or more other copywriters.
Muhammad Ali was arguably the greatest heavyweight champion of all times because he had his own style. Same goes for Rocky Marciano, who is also arguable the greatest of all times. Same same for Joe Louis and Tyson Fury.
All had their own styles within the rules and guidelines of boxing. But none were imitations of anyone else.
Yes, they learned from the other great fighters, but ONLY to learn how to develop their own style, one that cannot be knocked off, one that took them all the way to the championship.
Other than that, if you want to be great, you’ve got to be willing to devote time each day to the art of practice. If you’re not willing to practice, there’s zero chance you will ever make it, no matter how much you LOVE writing.
Another thing: If you’re not willing to fight when you write, then there will be almost zero chance you’ll make it because you’re not PASSIONATE enough to knock out all the other buffoons that are currently entering the ring, only to get pummeled.
But with my Fureyesque techniques, you can quickly ascend the ladder of success and make a name for yourself.
The golden keys to my methods lie in the fact that they are simple. Simple to learn. Simple to implement. Simple to take off soon after being on the runway.
You may think me unorthodox. You may be offended by some of the things I write, but the truth is I don’t really care.
All I care about is putting on the gloves and entering the ring to deliver knockout blows with my words.
Sometimes I miss. Sometimes my punches only graze you.
But eventually, I’m going to land the knockout blow.
In my Zen Mastery newsletter, you are taken on an emotional roller-coast ride. Some of what I write may scare the snot out of you. Other things I write will make you laugh out loud. And some will make instantly shift you into a whirld you’ve never seen before.
But all of it will change your life for the better, if you take it in, let it percolate, and allow it to put POWER in your punches. Power you never had before, but now do.
And armed with this power, you become unstoppable.
Some of your swings will miss, but eventually you will connect and when you do, look out, because the things you’ve always wanted will now be within reach. And with one more perfectly timed hit, you’ll know the feeling of being a CHAMPION.
My July issue of Zen Mastery is going out this weekend.
Make sure you’re on board.
